QuakeBert v1.0, by Chris Wigman. For full (but outdated) info on the mod, read QuakeBert.txt Again, it's all outdated, I haven't touched this since 1998 =P but I like this mod, and since it worked (very well) with DCQuake, I thought I might as well release it. Follow these steps to get QuakeBert running with Dreamcast Quake: NOTE: The FULLY REGISTERED Quake is required to play this mod! 1. Unpack DCQuake to a new - empty - directory. 2. Copy PAK1.PAK from your registered Quake (NECESSARY), into the ID1 directory. Make sure PAK0.PAK is NOT read-only. 3. Open PAK0.PAK (!!NOT!! PAK1) into PakExplorer (or whatever), and copy the contents of the PAKDATA directory included in the Quakebert ZIP to the PAK0.PAK ROOT. SPECIFICALLY: Go into the PAKDATA dir in windows explorer and select everything AND ALL the directories (gfx, maps etc...). With it all selected, drag it all into the right pane of the PakExplorer window, and let it overwrite any existing files. You need to MERGE the stuff in the PAKDATA dir with the stuff in PAK0.PAK (eg. my gfx+maps etc... instead of/in addition to what's already there). 4. Quit PakExplorer and let it clean up. If there were no errors, the PAK (and the game) is now ready to go. Burn it to a cd-r! Please do NOT ask me for help on this, as there are far too many myriad configurations/writing apps etc for me to help further. www.dcemulation.org and quakedev.dcemulation.org both have guides for this, so check them out. I lurk around the QuakeDev messageboards so leave a message there if you want, but you can also mail me: chis@matrik.ndo.co.uk And do check my site out: www.matrik.ndo.co.uk Comments are strongly encouraged! (The music OR QBert ;) Chis.
